Lecturer & specialist book author
He is known as the specialist book author of the international standard book “Chemistry and Technology of Wood Coatings”. The book has been translated into English and Russian.
In addition, he works as a lecturer at the Mosbach dual university and is a welcome guest as a lecturer at international conferences and congresses and has published numerous publications, patents and columns.
Voluntary commitment
He is an honorary member of the executive board of the Association of Engineers in the Paint and Varnish Industry (VILF) and as a member of the board of trustees of the technical and scientific advisory body of the Institute for Wood Technology Dresden e.V. and IHD.
Industrial career
After completing his training as a paint laboratory assistant (1984-1987) at BASF Coatings in Münster, he worked on the development and application of two-component polyurethane paints for wood coating and the synthesis of polyacrylate resins for use in powder clear coats for the automotive industry.
Driven by his enthusiasm for paint chemistry, he studied “Chemistry and Technology of Coating Materials” at the University of Paderborn from 1990 to 1994
Subsequently, he was responsible for the development and application technology of wood coatings Europe-wide at BASF Coatings until the end of 2001. In 2002 he followed the call from the medium-sized paint industry and joined the company 3H-Lacke (now Rammers) as technical manager and authorized signatory.
In 2008 he founded the consulting company “3P International Coatings Consulting”. With his own laboratory, he supported well-known paint and raw material manufacturers and paint users around the world in process optimization and well-known consulting companies and investors in acquisition matters.
As a result of his consulting work, he started as technical managing director at the paint factory Oskar Nolte. The technology focus was on aqueous and radiation-curing paint systems for industrial wood coating. After several years of activity, he is now back to the consulting business.
